How To Help

There are many ways that you can get involved in the work we are doing at Thembanathi.

Support our projects through direct donations:  100% of your contribution is directed to the centers.

  • $30 pays for three nutritious meals a day for month for a vulnerable children
  • $50 supports the costs of a child’s attendance at the program for one month
  • $75 will pay for educational materials for all children at the center for one month
  • $100 provides access to clean water at the new center for six months
  • $250  funds the food program at the center for a full month
  • $1500 ensures this critical service continues for another month

Please consider signing up for a monthly recurring donation.

Volunteer/ give gifts in-kind:  Volunteers are needed to help staff events and participate in fund raising activities. We also welcome people or groups who would like to provide educational materials, art supplies, or toys for the centers. Please contact Helen or Lindsey if you are interested in helping.

Host a jewelry  and craft sale:  Host a South African jewelry sale at your home, church, workplace, or place of business or let us be part of your organization’s next event. It’s easy and fun – and helps in two ways. First, you will be supporting both the income generation projects that are providing desperately needed employment. Second, all proceeds go to support the child development centers. Call or contact Helen Towle at helen@thembanathi.org or (541) 345-6144 or (541) 968-2379.

Buy Jewelry or other crafts: All of the proceeds from your purchase go to support our projects. Visit us at one of the upcoming events listed on our website.   If you are not able to attend an event, please contact Helen Towle (link to your email address) to set up a personal showing or receive a catalog of our products.
