The weekend after Thanksgiving Thembanathi will be joining Friendship with Cambodia, Fair Trade on Main, AWAZ, Life Stitches, and the Kumari Project for a 3-day fair trade holiday shopping event. The event is sponsored by Women’s Opportunity WorldWide.
The gift market will take place on the 2nd floor of the 5th Street Market. The times are listed below.
In addition to a large selection of jewelry and crafts, Thembanathi will be displaying works of art by both known and emerging South African artist. A young South African artist, Nothando Sabela, will be joining us at the event. In addition to talking about her own work, Nothando will share information about the other artist’s whose works will be featured. Nothando comes from the rural area of South Africa where Thembanathi is working to build a child development center. Nothando will be happy to talk to visitors about life in her community and her experience working at our temporary center. You can view the art that will be available at www.oaaart.com.
